What is the affiliate program?
It is a simple way to share my photographs and get paid for it. When you join, you get your own personal coupon code. Anyone who uses your code at checkout gets 10% off their purchase, and you earn 10% of the sale. It costs you nothing to join.
My store sells high-resolution digital downloads of my photographs of Cape Town and South Africa: Table Mountain, Lion's Head, False Bay, the tidal pools, aerial views, night skies and much more. Downloads currently range from about R750 to R4,350.

How it works, step by step
- Sign up. Fill in the short form on the affiliate sign-up page and confirm your email address.
- Get approved. I read every application myself and reply within 48 hours. You will get an email once your account is approved.
- Receive your personal coupon code. You will find it in your affiliate dashboard.
- Share it. Tell friends, post it on social media, add it to your newsletter or WhatsApp groups, or anywhere your audience is.
- Your customer saves 10%. When someone enters your code at checkout, they get 10% off their purchase.
- You earn 10%. You earn 10% of what they pay for the order.
An example
Sarah uses your code to buy a R2,350 digital download. She gets 10% off and pays R2,115. You earn 10% of that: R211.50.
If she buys a R780 download instead, she pays R702 and you earn R70.20.
What counts as a sale?
- A completed, paid order on emilegrundlingh.com where your coupon code was used at checkout.
- Your 10% is worked out on what the customer pays for the order, after their 10% discount. Shipping is not included.
- I review each order before the commission is approved.
- Orders that are refunded or charged back don't earn commission.
Tracking your earnings
Log in to your affiliate dashboard at any time to see your coupon code, your sales and the status of each commission in the Commission tab. Every paid commission is listed in the Payment tab. You can also find ready-made banners and images there when I share them.
Getting paid
To receive your commission, add your bank details in the Settings section of your affiliate dashboard. Without them, I can't pay you.
Commissions are paid monthly by EFT bank transfer, once your approved commission reaches R200. If you have earned less than R200, it simply carries over to the next month until you reach it.
Tips for sharing your code
- Lead with the saving. "Use my code for 10% off" is an easy reason for people to buy.
- Word of mouth works. Mention your code when friends admire a photograph on your wall or ask about Cape Town.
- WhatsApp and social posts. Share a photo you love from my store with your code in the message or caption.
- Flyers and talks. A short code is easy to print on a flyer or a business card, or to mention at a talk, club meeting or market stall.
- Think about who misses home. Expats love seeing Cape Town, so a "piece of home for your walls, with 10% off" message works well.
- Be honest. Let people know you earn a small commission. People trust a real recommendation.
- Don't spam. Share where it fits naturally, and never send unsolicited messages.

What if a customer forgets to use my code?
Sales are tracked only through your code, so remind people to enter it at checkout. The 10% saving is a good reason for them to remember.
Do I need a website or a big following?
No. A chat with friends, a WhatsApp group or an Instagram story can work just as well.
How long does approval take?
I review every application within 48 hours.
When and how do I get paid?
Monthly, by EFT bank transfer, once your commission reaches R200.
